No, which makes the joke senseless. The climb has a minimum of 5-6 days, and I assume Les is going to use more than one pair of socks.
2. How common is Product Placement in comic strips?
Not too common. Lynn Johnston did some in her comic strip by putting real stores or real people who offer services from her town of North Bay in the comic strip or giving good press to groups that hired her to do presentations.
