Dick Tracy: Panda and the others watch Mumbles's interrogation on the big screen. Given the camera angle, it looks as if there should be a floating caption pointing at Pat that says 'Actually Putty Puss'.
Funky Winkerbean: Now that we're done with the whole Norman Lear rip-off, Nate and the missus crow about his having set it all up instead of simply telling Mrs Blackburn to shove her camera up her ass.
Curtis: Curtis's honest dislike for the teacher who he sees as a petty tyrant who inflicts 'useless' knowledge on him lands him in trouble.
Sally Forth: Sally loses her shit when told that no one is coming to their barbecue. Watch her spend the week not realizing that a man-child with rage issues and a horribly damaged woman who was forced to grow up too soon aren't the most inviting hosts. |

FW: God, this has to be Batiuk's biggest cry for attention since his yearly cancer walk arcs. He alerts the papers, throws in the strawmen, but doesn't put in the effort to give the two lovebirds anything to say about this mess, let alone truly show them.
It'll probably get worse.
but doesn't put in the effort to give the two lovebirds anything to say about this mess, let alone truly show them
I agree wholeheartedly. They don't have names, never reappeared (that I could tell) and Batiuk resorted to using a stock villain. The problem was solved by the principal saying, "Let me quote you school policy."
On the other hand, "Camelot" as a prom theme? What decade is this comic strip supposed to be in?
Forget 'decade'...I wanna know what planet they're supposed to be on. You just know that in the real world, Mrs Blackburn's next move would be to get Nate fired and have some pliable God-botherer put in so as to make them see the light as according to the Gospel as preached by that eminent Biblical scholar Jack Chick.
You can just hear him scream, "Gimmie an award! Gimmie an award!"
FW: Truly a groundbreaking story arc.
Looks like either another gay couple is at the prom in the lower right hand corner of Panel 1...or Summer came to the prom in drag... | |
